Windchime’s Nelsons Son of a Gunner, aka "Sonny", is an AKC registered German Short Haired Pointer. Sired by Windchime’s Nelsons Chief Gunners Mate and Dame Strongpoint's Windchime Shotgun Rider, he was born in South Carolina in July 2020 and became a member of the Nelson family in September 2020. Sonny's name originated from being the offspring of the family's other accomplished German Shorthair Pointer, "Gunner", the nick-name by which Jimmy Nelson was known during his service in the U.S. Navy.

Already a credentialed Sport/Hunting Dog in his own rite, Sonny has achieved highly sought after credentials with both the North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association and the American Kennel Club - Utility Prize 2 and Senior Hunter respectively.

Sonny's chief responsibility at Nelson Financial is that of Assistant Greeter, and his outgoing, affectionate personality has made him a welcome addition to the team. With an incredible nose and a keen sense of his heritage, Sonny enjoys spending his spare time tracking, pointing and retrieving upland game, as well as water fowl, and other types of game animals. Sonny has proven he is well capable of running with the big dogs!
